Over the past two weeks NSI has been highlighting efforts to advance inclusion and accessibility by building solidarity across marginalized communities. Our latest installation of the cultural production Dialogues on the Edge opened at the Annex Theatre in Vancouver November 17. And we were honoured to share our local-to-national grassroots employment initiatives at the Disability and Work in Canada Conference 2025 in Ottawa, through participation of Bianca Okine, NSI Manager of Social Development. We believe, and our research and development efforts clearly show, that Deaf persons and persons with intellectual and other disabilities, and people living with these and other marginalized identities, can create solutions that work for all of us. This happens when marginalized people and communities can engage together and with allies at local grassroots levels, to explore intersections and the multiple layers of disadvantage, and to build solidarity for systemic change local-to-national-to-global.
